Gilbert and Sullivan's "Princess Ida"
About this event
Join us to see the Sudbury Savoyards' production of Gilbert and Sullivan's
Princess Ida
on Saturday March 2nd at 1:30 PM
Lincoln-Sudbury High School Auditorium
Tickets $20
What does the “battle of the sexes” look like when all it takes is a skirt or a pair of trousers to switch sides? Have a chuckle and a think at this fresh interpretation of Gilbert and Sullivan’s beloved spoof, Princess Ida, set in a world where gender is determined entirely by clothing, a world populated with scheming academics, impractical scientists, muscle-headed gym rats, would-be demagogues, and people who don’t quite fit into the mold made for them. Treat yourself to this revamped operatic comedy performed by some of the Boston area’s finest talent, both up-and-coming and experienced, accompanied by the Sudbury Savoyards’ full-scale, live orchestra. AND, a special bonus: this matinee includes a stage tour!
