WATERWORKS MUSEUM
near Cleveland Circle
Thursday, June 8th, at 1:15 PM

Registration Limit:  10

In the summer of 1876, the Boston Water Board replaced the Cochituate and Mystic Water Boards. This development signaled a major step forward in the area’s water management. In its first report, the new Board underscored the need for a high service station at Chestnut Hill to provide water to the higher regions of the city. The facility we are going to visit was built and maintained to fill this need.
Join one of the knowledgeable and passionate facilitators for a journey through the many stories connected to the Chestnut Hill High Service Pumping Station and the Boston Waterworks system. Our tour will last 30 to 45 minutes and is free of charge.

After the tour, weather permitting, interested members can walk around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir.
