The Armenian Museum of America in nearby Watertown collects, preserves, and presents the culture, history, art, and contributions of the Armenian people during the past 3,000 years. Since its creation in 1971, the museum has amassed an expansive treasure trove of inscribed Armenian rugs and textiles, ceramics, metalware, Urartian objects, medieval illuminations, ancient and medieval Armenian coins, and various other creations by the Armenian people.
A docent will guide us through the museum where we will learn about the history of Armenian immigration and the Armenian genocide during World War I. We will also see the current exhibition, "On the Edge: Los Angeles Art 1970s - 1990s," from the collection of Joan Agajanian and John Quinn.
