Maureen welcomes Allison Bauer, JD, MSW, to this cocktail hour.  Allison joins us as our Speaker, and brings with her credentials from many professional fields.  Currently she is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Health Policy/Public Health in the Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University. Previously, she served as Director of the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and worked for many years in philanthropy as Senior Director at The Boston Foundation. She was also Staff Director and Chief counsel for the Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse in the Massachusetts State House, and as a lobbyist for a consulting firm as well as a staff attorney at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, DC. Allison will talk with us today about “The Power of Experiential Learning.” Certainly she has had many occasions in her professional career “to learn by doing,” but today she’ll relate the topic to the cooperative learning model at Northeastern and to her experience working in Germany with students from Northeastern University in May and June 2022 on a “Dialogue of Civilizations.” Join us on November 18th for this informative and interesting discussion.
