Cinderella was a smash hit when first brought to the television screen in 1957 by the wonderful musical team of Rogers and Hammerstein and the lovely voice of Julie Andrews. In fact, more than a 100 million viewers of all ages enjoyed it nationwide in the comfort of their homes. Some even got to see it in color. For its first Broadway production in 2013, Tony-nominated playwright Douglas Carter Beane provided a new, updated book that adds nuance and poignancy as well as a modern slant to the familiar fairy tale. The Vokes Players chose his version for their production so enjoy the modernized for-Broadway adaptation of the only musical Rogers and Hammerstein ever wrote for television. We hope you will join us for this journey into a magical world.
