Come take a close look at the astounding $2.8 million renovation of the main branch of the Wellesley Free Library. The experience will make the inconvenience of its closure from April until November of 2021 seem warranted and worthwhile. Its update was reimagined with words in the “Wellesley Free Library Strategic Plan 2019-2023.” The actual renovation of its interior during the pandemic and the world-wide disruption of the supply chain turned out to be more challenging than projected, but you’d never think about that by seeing the finished product.

Designed to feel welcoming and comfortable to patrons of all ages, it accommodates individuals, small groups, and larger ones; provides printed and digital materials as well as the formats, devices, and spaces to use them; and even features a lounge to gather with friends for a chat or to work alone on your computer while having a cup of coffee and a snack. Guided tours, starting in January, will be programmed monthly as long as our members sign up for them.

The guided tour will last 30 to 40 minutes. Bring any questions you would like to ask.  Masks are required. If you are  having lunch at the Maugus Restaurant after the tour, you can click here  to sign up.  
The meeting point is the foyer just beyond the library entrance at the back parking lot.

Registration limit 6 members per tour.
