About this event
THE McMULLEN MUSEUM OF ART AT BOSTON COLLEGE
Shadows and Light
Thursday , November 12, at 11:00 AM
"Shadows and Light" showcases one of the most important private collections of Belgian Symbolist art, featuring more than 150 works by Belgian and other European artists. The exhibition explores the fascinating world of Symbolism through themes of dream and reality, mystery and revelation, faith, social justice, and the complexities of modern life.
Through new research and a presentation organized into ten “movements,” the exhibition highlights how these innovative artists built on the rich traditions of Belgian and Flemish art while helping expand the language of modern art. Wellesley Neighbors members are invited to join us for this fascinating exhibition and discover the beauty, mystery, and groundbreaking vision of Belgian Symbolist art.
