You may remember well our private tour last fall of the fabulous Historical Frederick Piano Collection with pianos that were made between 1790 and 1928. Located in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, it also sponsors the Historical Piano Concerts Series, which caught the attention of some participants. The Activities Committee followed through with this lead and now has arranged for you an afternoon activity you are sure to enjoy this lovely New England fall. Consider it a wonderful opportunity to listen to youthful piano trios by Debussy, Rachmaninoff, and Dvorak, “Masters of the Miniature,” played by the Kalos Trio with Lijiiong Liao on violin, Rebecca Hartka on cello, and Barbara Lysakowski on a historic piano [by Erard & Cie, Paris (1893)] from the Frederick Collection.
Carpooling will be arranged.
Following the concert, we will share a meal at a popular, local bar and grill called The Tavern on Central, at 3 Central Street, in Ashburnham, just 5 minutes from the concert. Phone: 978-827-1272 Individual checks
Cost: $20 by check payable to Historical Piano Concerts, earmarked September 27 concert
