As their summer production, the Vokes Players have chosen "Over the River and Through the Woods," a comedy all about family ties. Nick, a young and single marketing executive in New Jersey, has been offered a dream job in Seattle and is torn about abandoning his two sets of grandparents who live in New Jersey. Other family members of his generation already have left so the pressure is on Nick to pass up this grand opportunity in order to be the loving grandson. His wily grandparents scheme to trick him into staying. A satisfying mixture of moments of heartfelt drama and hilarious comedy, the play addresses a dilemma some of us will relate to as our beloved grandchildren move away and the apron strings have to be severed.
