Thanks to the commercial success of All My Sons on Broadway in 1947—his first play only lasted there four days—Arthur Miller became the classic American playwright we still admire today. (He had vowed to find another way to make a living if it too failed.) It also helped to make him a target of The House Un-American Activities Committee. Based on a true story of The American Dream gone wrong and the devastating effects of that on one family, All My Sons dramatizes the dark side of the American economic system. Almost eight decades later, theater enthusiasts still clamor to see this work performed; in fact, the Activities Committee has created for you an event to bring to you the five-star, triumphantly acclaimed, new production of All My Sons that was filmed live in a London theater in February and premiered for screening worldwide in cinemas on April 16th. We are fortunate that TCAN has programmed this special showing.
