"20 Years of Archaeology in Greece"
Friday, December 19 at 5 PM
on Zoom
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Bryan Burns, a Professor of Classical Studies at Wellesley College. As co-director of the Eastern Boeotia Archaeological Project, he has led excavations in Greece for 20 years. He will introduce us to ancient Eleon, a small community in Greece, where he and his students work together with Greek and Canadian colleagues every summer. Bryan will explain the goals of this project focused on a smaller community’s place in the political and economic landscape of central Greece. He also will share examples of its most significant and unusual finds, which span the Bronze Age through Classical Periods (1700 – 400 BCE).
Videoconference information will be provided in an email once registration is complete.
