Join Park Rangers of the Mounted Unit of the State Department of Conservation and Recreation, who will tell us about its responsibilities, particularly relating to the use of horses when the rangers are patrolling the many parks. The DCR owns, manages, and oversees 450,000 acres of parkland, beaches, forests, watersheds, and city walks.
The Park Ranger Mounted Unit, a state-wide specialized department, not only uses horses for park patrols but also for ceremonial events; maple sugaring events; park festivals; National Night Out; and Christmas Tree Lightings.
A happy coincidence. The Co-Chairs of the Activities Committee were surprised recently by meeting our speakers as they were patrolling on horseback at the Massachusetts Horticultural Society at Elm Bank. They were quite informative and very excited and enthusiastic when asked if they would give a talk at this Cocktail Hour. You will like getting to know them, their skills, and their work, so please come to the Cocktail Hour on November 15th.
Videoconference information will be provided in an email once payment is received.
