About this event
Discussion of a TED-ED Video
The Benefits of a Bilingual Brain
Thursday, February 9 at 4:00 PM on Zoom
Of the eight billion people on our planet, a majority use two or more languages in daily life. Advances in technology have provided the tools needed to investigate language acquisition as well as bilingualism and multilingualism. This TED-Ed animated video, based on a lecture by a prominent educator, explains some of the results of this research. Keeping in mind this information, let’s have a conversation about how we learned and use other languages and the benefits we have derived from that. Let’s also talk about our experiences teaching ESL and other disciplines to non-English speakers as well as our current study of another language.
Please watch the video before the event. It will be shown again during the event.
