Please join us for a docent-led tour of this
beautiful area of Boston
More intimate than the Back Bay and more idiosyncratic than Beacon Hill, the South End is one of Boston’s hidden treasures. This neighborhood is filled with an incredible diversity of historic brick row houses, including gothic, Flemish, Italianate and Victorian. Beautiful churches, including the Cathedral of the Holy Cross; which, by all accounts is the grandest church in Boston. The neighborhood has five major garden squares as well as a number of smaller, residential parks scattered through the neighborhood. Originally established from a land-filled marsh, the South End is now a vibrant community of historic buildings, world-class restaurants, unique shops as well as a thriving artistic community.
Date: Saturday, June 12 at 11:00 AM (1 1/2 hour tour).
Cost: $17.50 per person (minimum of 10 to make this viable.

We plan to travel to Boston by train. Cost is $8.00 round trip (senior).

Parking is available at the Wellesley Square Train Station (credit card payment required at train station).

Please be aware the tour will end at Franklin Park (off Washington Street) and not at the Plaza. This is approximately 1/2 mile walking distance from the Back Bay train station.
