Let’s forget the pandemic and concentrate on happier things, like holidays and  celebrations.  Courtesy of YouTube and Rick Steeves, we’ll visit France, Germany,  Italy and Norway and learn about their customs – food, gift-giving, and all sorts of  ways different cultures experience Christmas.  At our virtual get-together, a few members will talk about their memories of the holidays in those countries and others where we have lived. We’ll exchange our reactions to the videos and presentations and add our own memories and practices of Christmas,  Hanukah, and other winter holidays.   

While watching the videos, think about what seems familiar or different, what you’d  like to incorporate into your holiday customs, or what you find less appealing.
